Gay Marlene Dulus Clay
( October 10, 1947 - February 7, 2025 )
Gay Marlene Dulus Clay, age 77 of Lincolnton, passed away quietly at home surrounded by her family on Friday, February 7, 2025.
Her funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at Victory Grove Baptist Church with Pastor Clay Ledford and Pastor David Jarrell officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:15 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
Gay was born October 10, 1947, in West Virginia, to the late Mike Dulus and Louella Rorrer Rose. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, John Clay, Jr. She was also preceded by a sister, Kitty Graham; brothers, Mike Dulus, James Dulus, and Sidney Rose; and grandsons Nicholas Hall and Dustin McDaniel. Momma was a great Christian lady and a member of Victory Grove Baptist Church. She was very active in the church and Christian Ministries until her health declined. She was also a huge supporter of St. Jude’s.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons, John Clay, III, Donald Clay and Willa, Timmy Clay and Leslie; daughter, Tammy Minton and David; brothers, Billy Dulus and Lisa, and Tommy Dulus; grandchildren, Billy Hall, Jonathan Clay, Tabitha Mathis, Josh McDaniel and Jerry McDaniel; sisters-in-law, Joan Dulus and Libby Mullins; brothers-in-law, Jeremy Clay and Melissa, and Glennes Clay and Betty; a host of great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
