Jeanette Hoffman Childress

Jeanette Hoffman Childress, age 91, of Lincolnton, passed away on Tuesday, February 19, 2025.
Her funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, February 24, 2025, in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Scott Whitener officiating. Burial will follow in the Pisgah Methodist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 2:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
Jeanette was born February 14, 1934, in Lincoln County, to the late Claude Harve Kiser and Lela Faye Yarborough Kiser. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Donald Childress, and sister, Betty Rose Whitener. She worked as a secretary for Hoffman Construction and loved cooking and entering the Apple Festival contests where she won numerous awards.
She is survived by daughters, Lisa Hoffman Taylor (Terry) of Lincolnton, and Cathi Hoffman (partner Jenny Wortman and daughter Emily Greenough) of Murrells Inlet, SC; brother, Dr. John Kiser of Lincolnton; grandson, Dakotah Blake Taylor of Virginia Beach, VA; and great-granddaughter, Madilyn Annsleigh Hester.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1901 Brunswick Avenue, Suite 100, Charlotte, NC 28207.
