Martha Alice Messer Christopher
( July 6, 1940 - February 24, 2025 )
Martha Alice Messer Christopher, "Mary Alice Peanut" age 84, of Rock Dam Road in Lincolnton, and formerly of Iron Station, passed away on Monday, February 24, 2025.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 1, 2025, in the Amity Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Todd Auton officiating. The family will greet friends following the graveside service.
Mrs. Christopher was born July 6, 1940, in Gaston County, to the late James Messer and Martha Dorsey Messer Brigmon. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Robert Christopher; son, Terry Helton; great-granddaughter, MaKenna Warlick; and step-father, Carl Brigmon. Martha worked as a technician with the American Red Cross.
She is survived by four children, Daniel Helton (Sandra) of Denver, Shaun Helton of Harmony, Karen Kelley of West Virginia, and Kenneth Christopher (Barbara) of Lincolnton; brother, Bob Messer of Gastonia; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation, 5757 Waterford District Drive, Suite 310, Miami, FL 33126.
