Sylvia Jean Morrison Ballard

Sylvia Jean Morrison Ballard, age 87, of Stanley, North Carolina, passed away Saturday, April 5, 2025. Sylvia was born May 11, 1937, in Lincoln County, North Carolina, daughter of the late Sam and Gussie Dellinger Morrison.
Sylvia is survived by her sons, Scott Ballard of Stanley, NC, and Chad Ballard (Julie) of Iron Station, NC; and grandchildren, Chase Ballard (Hunter Mullis) of Washington, DC, and Tate Ballard of Matthews, NC.
In addition to her parents, Sylvia was preceded in death by her husband, Dottice Brevard Ballard; daughter, Teresa Ann Ballard; and siblings.
A graveside service for Sylvia will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 12, 2025, in the Hill’s Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery, Stanley, NC, with Reverend Keith Sherrill officiating. The family will fellowship with friends and family in the church’s Family Life Center following the graveside service.
