Velma Bridges Alexander

Velma Bridges Alexander, age 82, of Grier Street in Lincolnton passed away on Friday, May 2, 2025.
Her funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at Salem Baptist Church with Rev. Shea Houser officiating. Her body will lie in state for 30 minutes prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Monday, May 5, 2025 at Warlick Funeral Home.
Mrs. Alexander was born on January 25,1943 and was the daughter of the late Robert and Lorene Gilbert Bridges. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Alexander and three sisters, Beatrice McCurry, Annie Mae Stamey and Elizabeth Berryhill. Mrs. Alexander retired as co-owner of Don’s Gulf and BP in Lincolnton.
She is survived by her two daughters, Louise A. Mahoney (B.J) of Lincolnton and Patricia A. “Trish” Houser (Ray) of Lincolnton, four grandchildren, Casey Lee Mahoney, Maria Ann Mahoney, Joseph Houser and Lindsay Gardner, and seven great-grandchildren, Eli, Abigail, Keegan, Tristen, Karson, McKenzie and Bethany.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org.
