Frances "Jeanie" Varner Lawing

Frances “Jeanie” Varner Lawing, age 81, of Lincolnton, passed away on Monday, May 5, 2025.
Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at Crouse United Methodist Church with Rev. Troy Howard officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends 10:00 until 10:45 a.m. prior to the service at the church.
Jeanie was born March 31, 1944, in Lincoln County, to the late Paul and Mary Benfield Varner. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Harold Lawing. Jeanie worked as a seamstress of clothing and drapes, and also taught piano and guitar.
She is survived by two daughters, Kristie L. Fredell (Tim) of Lincolnton, and Kathi L. Correll (Billy Jordan) of Sherrills Ford; two sisters, Judi Grice (Mike), and Janet Watts (Leonard), all of Lincolnton; brother, Ricky Varner of Spokane, WA; four grandchildren, Christopher Fredell (Betsy), KateLyn Davis (Charlie McKinney), Adam Fredell (Joanne), and Luke Fredell and his mother, Sharon Brummett, who was thought of as a daughter; three great-grandchildren, Robbie, Elijah, and Alex; as well as her fur babies, Cooper and Donner.
Memorials may be made to Crouse United Methodist Church, PO Box 43, Crouse, NC 28033.
